Abstract

The development of an integrated lesson is devoted to the study of the population in the world and in Ukraine, the factors that affect the population. While studying this topic, students will get acquainted with the basic demographic concepts and terms, learn to work with statistical materials, calculate indicators of natural and mechanical movement, create a mathematical model of the task and use it to solve applied problems in geography. The implementation of the applied focus of teaching mathematics in secondary schools through the development of mathematical STEM competence provides an opportunity to create mathematical models of real situations and find solutions to problems with their help. Teachers in an integrated lesson will create favorable conditions for self-expression of each child in various activities, including educational and creative ones.

The integrated lesson is recommended for teachers to conduct lessons for the development and generalization of STEM competence in geography and mathematics. During the lesson, students will learn demographic terminology that is new to them, discover a method of solving problems of a certain type for intelligence, creativity, and apply search methods of learning. In the lesson, the teacher will continue the skills of educational work on drawing up structural and logical schemes. The main goal of STEM education is the formation and development of mental, cognitive and creative abilities of young people, the level of which determines competitiveness in the labor market. The applied orientation of the school course in the field of science education as a problem that needs to be solved and as a task that needs to be solved in education is declared in the State Standard of Basic and Comprehensive General Secondary Education
