Abstract

The article presents generalised empirical data on the components of gifted students’ personal potential. The experimental study was carried out within the framework of the research work “Scientific and methodological principles of realisation of personal potential of gifted students in specialised educational institutions of scientific orientation”. The total number of respondents involved in the diagnosis was 461 pupils with signs of giftedness. The methods used were: the methodology for studying learning motivation (M. Lukianova, N. Kalinina); the test “Study of volitional self-regulation” (A. Zverkov and E. Eidman; test 16 of the Cattell RF questionnaire (form C). This diagnostic complex allows to identify the main components of gifted pupils’ personal potential. The authors have developed recommendations for ensuring the level of development of gifted students’ potential in martial law conditions, which include the following: comprehensive diagnostics; individual and group consultations; providing psychosocial support for gifted students; providing support and guidance to teaching staff; taking into account trends in international experience. The following trainings were implemented: trainings on the development of emotional intelligence and tolerance; trainings to improve self-esteem, self-confidence, internal motivation and goal setting (“Psychology of Life Success”; “My Success is...”, “My Needs”, “Successful Person”, “Me and My Goal”, etc.); optional course “We and the Conflict”; the optional course “Psychology of Communication” included a set of classes (“Effective Communication”, “Confident Behaviour”, “Synergy of Relationships”) aimed at developing communication skills, developing the ability to work in a group for effective interaction, and to promote resilience, an interactive educational exhibition “MentalTrek” was held; art therapy techniques (mandala therapy, isotherapy on the topics “My Life as”, “Wheel of Life”, “Hero’s Path”), etc. Only an integrated approach of interaction between practical psychologists and pedagogical staff and administration of experimental institutions allows to provide all opportunities for the development of personal potential of gifted students in martial law conditions.
