The paper considers the important issue of family influence on the development of a creatively gifted child. In particular, the researchers’ attention was focused on the study of creative potential, namely, ingenuity as the brightest manifestation of preschool children’s creativity. The diagnostic study was aimed at studying the socio-psychological factors of the development of ingenuity in preschoolers in the conditions of family upbringing. The authors believe that in the older preschool age, children’s desire for personal freedom is intensifed, and their tolerance for strict restrictions and psychological pressure from parents decreases, so we consider a harsh attitude inappropriate in the upbringing of a creatively gifted preschooler. During a series of conversations with the parents of the pupils, the peculiarities of the family structure, the level of interest of parents in the comprehensive development of babies, the social status of family members, etc. were clarifed. The emotional state of the child in the family circle, the presence of conflict situations in the family, the nature of the relationship between the parents, the attitude of the parents to the child were studied using the modifed method “Family Drawing”, adapted for preschool children (3–7 years) by O. Kulchytskaya, I. Snytko. It was found that negative socio-psychological factors in preschool age are indifferent attitude towards the child, conflict in the family, depressed emotional mood of children.
