Abstract

The reviewed manual is a theoretical, methodological and practical guide to the administration and teaching staff of general secondary education for the adaptation of gifted students, which is a priority from the standpoint of ensuring the successful development of gifted children and youth. The first section "Development of giftedness in the information and educational environment of modern general secondary education" presents a philosophical and educational analysis of the information and educational environment of modern general secondary education. It is emphasized that the very concept of information and educational environment is complex and considered by different researchers from different points of view.

The second section "Empirical study of psychological and social factors of adaptation of gifted students" of the manual presents the features of cognitive and emotionalvolitional spheres of gifted children. It is established that gifted children need special attention of the teacher and encourage him to creative organization of the educational process. The results of an experimental study on the adaptation of primary school students taking into account the indicators of emotional background, performance, ability to differentiate emotions (social emotions) and emotional attitude to school, as well as the social status of students in the classroom.

The third section "Workshop on the adaptation of gifted students to the languages of the information and educational environment institution of general secondary education" of the manual sets out the rationale for the program of adaptation of students of general secondary education and the stages of its implementation. The authors rightly point out that each period of a child's adulthood is important in itself, regardless of subsequent age periods. Based on the peculiarities of the development of gifted students, the authors propose a program to reduce risk factors in crisis periods of psychological development at all stages during training in institution of general secondary education, strengthening protective factors, development of children's personal qualities and social factors (socio-emotional development, communication, professional self-determination).
