Implementation of the STEAM Educational Approach in Technology Education of the New Ukrainian School

STEAM as a phenomenon of modern education is becoming more and more widespread and skillful experimental implementation. Various models of introducing an educational approach on an integrated basis require detailed study and research. The article discusses promising directions for synthesizing technological education with STEAM education of the New Ukrainian School in Ukraine. Attention is focused on the content of the art-project component of technological education and its implementation through various pedagogical approaches, in particular, the heuristic component of the pedagogical technology of developmental learning. The author's vision of the scientific-pedagogical direction of artistic design and service technologies in everyday life in the art-design component of technological education is revealed. The artistic and technical synthesizing components of design thinking are outlined. Fundamental differences in the selection of content and methodological features of the teaching of the author’s module “Artistic design and service technologies in everyday life” of the curriculum for grades 5-9 in the educational field “Technology”
have been identified.
