Abstract

This scientific work is devoted to the consideration of psychological features of corrections of professional emotional burnout of medical workers of various specialties. Currently, Ukraine is going through a difficult historical period of its formation in the conditions of bloodshed resistance to treacherous Russian aggression. In these conditions caused by the military situation, representatives of the most humane and peaceful profession – people in white coats – bear a great responsibility for providing timely, highly professional, qualified assistance to the Ukrainian population. At the same time, it should be noted that medical workers themselves fall into the risk group of susceptibility to the syndrome of professional emotional burnout, because due to debt and professional obligations, they must perform their work in conditions of excessively high workload and the need to come into contact with people representing different strata our society. At the same time, this communication takes place, as a rule, in a very negatively emotionally saturated background, associated with suffering, pain, hot losses and disappointments. At the same time, patients, their relatives and loved ones have the right to count on the guaranteed provision of timely professional qualified assistance and psychological support, and sometimes just sympathy.

The emotional burnout syndrome is a state of physical and emotional exhaustion, which is the result of excessively high workload during the performance of large volumes of work, as well as high demands on oneself in conditions of feeling strong psychological discomfort and constant chronic stress. It manifests itself both in the form of physical fatigue and in the feeling of psychological and emotional exhaustion.

The syndrome of emotional burnout is caused by strong negative effects, which in turn affect the peculiarities of the behavior of specialists and the effectiveness of their professional activities.

At the same time, the activity of people-to- people workers, who are forced to be in constant contact and communication with other people, is characterized by a number of problems that may become more complicated in the future. The professional activity of medical workers is emotionally intense, it requires maximum self-sacrifice. Employees are daily faced with patients’ problems and negative emotions on their part, so they have to establish a certain protective barrier against emotional overload, but we are all human and we cannot help but react to the manifestation of various types of feelings and remain indifferent.

Burnout is manifested by the specialist's complete loss of interest in his activity and loss of further development, lack of strength, inspiration and desire to do his job. Such a process is not instantaneous and does not occur in one moment. This process develops gradually and is completely imperceptible, the longer a person accumulates negative emotions and internal tension, the brighter the burnout process will manifest itself. All this “cargo” of emotions is reflected as a deterioration of the health of the person himself and a decrease in work efficiency. Therefore, it is practically impossible to cope with the process of burnout yourself.

Thus, we consider this thematic area to be one of the most relevant and socially significant on a global scale for the Ukrainian state.
