Pedagogical foundations for developing children's creative abilities through music and choreography

Abstract

This article is dedicated to the peculiarities of developing children's creative abilities through the means of music and choreography. It is noted that musical-choreographic art constitutes an effective tool for shaping a child's creative qualities. It is determined that the interaction of all expressive means in the process of creating a musical image plays an exceptionally significant role. The shared imaginal nature creates the opportunity for the integration of music and choreography into a single artistic work. The pedagogical conditions for the development of children’s creative abilities through music and choreography are characterized. It is proven that for the effective development of students’ musical- choreographic abilities, it is advisable to use active learning methods, which have proven effective in developing the creative abilities of school- aged children.

The development of musical and choreographic abilities of students is an urgent problem of the general education of schoolchildren. The peculiarities of musical and choreographic art are that the meaning of the dance work is revealed thanks to the plasticity of the body. Choreographic abilities are a complex entity that includes the following main components: intellectual-creative, musical-movement and motivational. They determine the level of development of the child's musical and choreographic creativity.

The foundations of musical and choreographic abilities of younger schoolchildren are the following: intellectual and creative potential, i.e. the child's ability to analyze and find new, original solutions to movement tasks; musical and movement possibilities: general movement activity as a condition for plastic and emotional expressiveness, a sense of rhythm, a high level of sensorial processes, artistic and aesthetic activity; motivational properties: interest in dance art, energy, work capacity, high motivation for achievements.
