Master Class “Within the Limits of Unlimited Linocut Technology”

Abstract

The article offers to get acquainted with a master class whose purpose is to perform a composition in the technique of linocut. The purpose of the proposed master class is: to give an idea of graphics, its types and genres, to acquaint with the technique of linocut; to teach practical skills of work with various tools, materials and equipment in the manufacture of printing plates and printing; to develop the ability to create compositions by means of printed graphics; ability to create beautiful according to compositional laws and imagination; to cultivate creativity in solving nonstandard tasks; love of beauty; ability to see beauty in everyday life; desire to create original things with their own hands. The author sets herself the task: to transfer her experience in the technique of linocut; to involve participants in the process of creating prints, to make them active, to awaken in them what is hidden even for themselves; create an atmosphere of openness, friendliness, co-creation, faith in yourself as the creator of beauty. For clarity, the participants of the master class were invited to get acquainted with samples of work done in the technique of linocut; presentation “Within the limits of linocut technology”, presentation “Creative works of circle members”, video “Linocuts”. The following materials and equipment are necessary for successful execution: linoleum, printing paper, printing ink, cutters, linoleum brush, rubber roller, glass for rolling paint, spoon, ballpoint pen, spatula, sandpaper, turpentine, napkins.
