Today, students of general secondary education institutions have the opportunity to develop themselves and their own abilities (giftedness) in any feld. In Ukraine, at the state level, such personalities are supported, developed and motivated by the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Regardless of the place of residence, students have the opportunity to experiment, develop, design, launch, grow, etc., that is, to carry out scientifc research in various felds under the guidance of scientifc supervisors (doctors and candidates of sciences who work at higher educational institutions and scientifc institutions).
In this article, the author is a young researcher, a graduate of Lyceum No. 171 “Leader” of Kyiv, a student of T. Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Evgenia Anastasia Rudyk who shares her impressions about participation in the ICYS–2019 International Conference.
In 2019, Evgeniya Anastasia Rudyk took part in the International Conference of Young Scientists ISYS'19, held in the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she received a silver medal in the mathematics category with a paper on the topic “Two-Parameter Triangles Described Around Curvilinear Sickle-shaped Dihedrals”.
In her work, she considered curvilinear digons, which are formed at the intersection of two circles. They are the shape of the eye, the moon, and are widely found in various felds – construction, modeling of molecules, engineering. Evgenia Anastasia investigated the mutually unambiguous correspondence between the placement of the vertices of isosceles triangles described around sickle-shaped digons and their parameters. At the same time, she discovered that the vertices of isosceles triangles of the smallest area described around sickle-shaped digons lie on Cartesian ovals, the basic Pascal spirals of which have a nodal point.
