The article analyzes the reliability of the α-Cronbach coefcient and the validity of the Ukrainian-language teenage version of the test “The Personality Self-portrait” by J. Oldham – L. Morris (PSP). Satisfactory reliability of test scales B, C, I, L has been established; relatively satisfactory – scales A, D, G, М, N. The E, F, H, J, K – scales have insufcient internal consistency, which casts doubt on their reliability. The study of validity was carried out using a correlation analysis between the results of PSP and the results of the methods for studying communicative attitudes, the methods for studying self-attitude, the Emotional Orientation Test. Checking the
validity of the PSP-scales as a whole proved that this test really fxes problems with the internal (intrapersonal) and external (social, interpersonal) adaptation of the subject, which reflect the main problem of each accentuated personality. The paper presents test standards calculated taking into account the gender of adolescents. The paper presents a Ukrainianlanguage questionnaire adapted for adolescents, as well as test standards taking into account gender. The article is the frst part of the study of the diagnostic capabilities of the “The Personality Self-portrait” for the identifcation of gifted youth.
The problem of identifying gifted children is not limited to identifying (diagnosing) their cognitive resources. The results of research into the personal structure of adolescents with signs of giftedness are of great importance. Usually, to solve this problem, personality tests are used, which record certain qualities of an adapted (internally and externally) individual. Therefore, in the practice of identifying giftedness, the psychodiagnostic toolkit that examines accentuations and psychopathies, certain disorders of internal and external adaptation, is rarely used.
