In the opinion of the author of the article, the issue of subjectivity is tangential to the issue of leadership, which, due to political and mental reasons, developed precisely during the period of Ukraine's independence. Sociopolitical changes in Ukrainian society at the end of the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries caused attention to the individual and its development in a democratic society. The analysis of the components of leadership qualities, summarized according to research on leadership theories, and their comparison with the generalized signs of individual subjectivity made it possible to draw promising conclusions regarding the proximity of the phenomena of leadership and subjectivity. The author concludes that the subjectivity of an individual is the basis and prerequisite of his leadership. Leadership is that integral characteristic of a person that combines his personal and social, and determines the interdependence of individual and social. The author notes the need to work out issues related to the formation of leadership qualities of gifted students of general secondary education institutions, as a component of pedagogical support for a gifted personality.
