The article focuses on the preparation of decorative and applied arts artists for the use of ethnodesign technologies in their professional activities. It represents modern approaches to professional design education, in particular, the use of traditional ethnic motifs of decorative and applied arts products and their interpretation using multimedia design technologies.
Special attention is paid to ethnodesign technologies that contribute to the realization of the project-creative talent of decorative and applied arts artists. The wording of the essence of the concept of “ethnodesign” has been clarified, considering the key words of the Law of Ukraine “On Folk Artistic Crafts”: a typical sample of an artistic product, a serial product, creative variation. It is noted that such key words allow the term “ethnodesign” to be associated with the work of decorative art artists and the project work of masters of folk arts and crafts (folk crafts).
Professional training of applied art specialists is effective under the condition of using innovative materials and modern ethnodesign technologies – creative variation of typical samples of art products for their serial production. It is noted that modern technologies of ethnodesign ensure the preservation of the authenticity of typical samples of folk arts and crafts.
In the opinion of the author, gifted artists and masters of decorative and applied arts should be ethnophores, capable of inspired formation of typical examples of art products by means of modern ethnodesign technologies. Centers of folk arts and crafts of the historical and ethnographic regions of Ukraine should become territorial craft chambers (craft chambers of traditional and modern ethnodesign technologies).
