Individual Picture of the World: Types, Criteria and Formation Indicators in Children of Primary School Age

The article substantiates the relevance of the study of the picture of the growing personality. The picture of the world, according to modern scientific ideas, is a system of ideas about the world and about oneself in it; a system of values and attitudes to the world that regulates the life of the individual in a particular cultural and natural environment. The picture of the world distinguishes cognitive (elementary knowledge of the world (nature, culture, other people and self), its laws), emotional and value (emotional reactions, motives, evaluative judgments, moral / immoral orientation in relation to the world) and activity (behavior, moral / immoral orientation of actions, creativity) components. Criteria and indicators of the formation of the picture of the world are described. Among the criteria: the quality of worldviews (cognitive component); features of emotional and value attitude to the world (emotional and value component); the nature of interaction with the world (activity component). Indicators of the quality of ideas about the world are their balance, realism, awareness, system. Indicators of emotional and value attitude to the world are emotional reactions, the content of evaluative judgments, motives for attitude to the world. Indicators of the nature of interaction with the world are the direction of actions, the nature of behavior, creativity. Based on the criteria and empirical data obtained during the analysis, the types of pictures of the world are identified. As the picture of the world is a complex formation, it is difficult to distinguish integrative indicators of this phenomenon in the unity of cognitive, emotional-value and activity components. Therefore, the types of the picture of the world are identified for each of the components separately. The specificity of the manifestation of each type is determined by a different combination of indicators and the degree of their manifestation. The latter is taken into account in scoring. The types of picture of the world by cognitive component (cognitively complex, relatively cognitively complex, cognitively simplified, cognitively simple) are distinguished; by emotional-value component (humanistic balanced-moral, humanistic contradictorymoral, indifferent (intermediate), egocentric); by activity component (harmonious, relatively harmonious, transitional, conflict).
