Approaches to the Identification of Creatively Gifted Students

The article presents data from world studies on approaches to identify creatively gifted students. The tests are presented that used by world researchers to diagnose creative giftedness among students. The views, methods and approaches are described to the assessment of the creative component of the personality. The types of identifcation of gifted students are presented in detail that used by specialists in world practice. The personality traits of a student with creative talent are considered. The most important differences of an artistically gifted student in comparison with the average level of artistic development are described in detail.
Researchers have found that more creative people tend to make meaningful and useful associations between disparate concepts and ideas more than less creative people.
The article describes the types of identifcation of the gifted. We described creativity or creativity checklists. There are many different creativity checklists, most of which have been developed for use in schools. The article will also present such tests as the Behavioral Assessment Scales for Excellence (SRBCSS), which are widely used in the selection of students for participation in gifted and alented programs.
The article describes different program options to meet the educational needs of gifted students in Turkey. These are special schools, after-school programs, resource rooms and children's universities. Recently, many original tools have been developed to identify talented students. In addition, studies have proven their effectiveness on curriculum differentiation for Turkish gifted students.
The article presents data from a study of specifc manifestations of creativity and cognitive characteristics in younger adolescents with artistic and intellectual gifts. Examples of identifcation of artistically gifted students in Croatia are given.
The article describes in detail the characteristics of a creatively gifted student in the feld of fne arts.
